Review
By far one of the better Gundam series since the introduction of the boyband types. (Wing, Seed, etc.) Although the series catered to the eyes and screaming fangirls/fanboys, it definitely contained the old school Gundam feel, in that the storyline was strong and anyone was susceptible of dying at any moment. (After a brief character development moment first of course – it makes the hit much harder to cope.) This is most apparent with the death of one of the main characters, although he is replaced by his twin. Still, the two characters are very different in their own ways, making the death still feel authentic.
In the year 2307 A.D., social unrest continues as 3 Orbital Elevators, each controlled by one of the three major governments of the world, stand as monuments of prestige and dominance. A mysterious organization called Celestial Beings, equipped with mobile suits called Gundam suddenly appear- declaring the use of military force on any country that wages war- no matter what the cause. And thus the Gundam Meisters Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tieria Erde become the world’s enemy- with the goal to eradicate war with war… The second season (time skip) covers the events after four years and ends the conflict once and for all… Until the movie of course. Great series with a mix of drama, action, romance, politics and shiny mechas.
